PharmaSea Survey: 'Sampling and Utilisation of Marine Biological Resources for R&D'

Published 8 February 2017

The FP7 funded PharmaSea project represents a model marine biodiscovery pipeline within which existing challenges hampering marine biodiversity research and development (R&D) are addressed.

Within the PharmaSea project, one work package (WP6) focuses on the legal and policy bottlenecks relevant to the sampling and utilization of marine biological resources.

In this context the PharmaSea project invites you to this study, to obtain information on how biological material from the marine environment is obtained and used in R&R.

The results of this survey will be used to:

  • develop tools which will support scientists navigate the legal framework governing sampling and/ or the use of marine genetic resources for R&D.
  • inform policy in relation to developing rgulations governing the sampling and use of these resources in R&D.
